I'm just so disappointed in the recent tone of the show. Seems more like "Jon and Kate" lately. Used to be such fun to watch and so heartwarming. Now it seems like Amy trying to have her camp with the kids and poor Matt is ganged up on. I realized I never saw a "surprise Matt for Father's Day" show or a Happy Birthday surprise for Matt. It seems to have been all about Amy. And now Amy seems surly and miserable and to be honest - it seems like her kids are her primary interest and that perhaps she only married in order to have those kids. What a surprise she is going to have when the kids move away some day and the show runs its course and she finds regret at having driven Matt off. I didn't blame Matt for going to Hawaii without her. Nothing he can do pleases her anymore. And to be honest without Matt, I don't think this family would be known by anyone other than their neighbors. I see the end in sight and I'm so sorry for that. Also Zach is becoming more stubborn and mean spirited towards his father every day - with Amy's encouragement and blessing. Jacob I fear is going to run into problems. He has no self control whatsoever. Jeremy seems to be the most well adjusted and kindest of all and Molly also seems a nice kid. Matt is just a super person. I almost want to turn the tv off when Zach starts his backtalk and sermonizing. And I get so tired of watching Jacob hit everyone and just generally be sullen and rude. Matt has tried so hard to give them a life of "wonder" and happiness. And he has managed to live in the mess created by Amy and the kids. It is unbelievable. The only thing I ever see Amy do is put dishes in the dishwasher and make coffee! I don't know how the kids can be expected to do well in school when they live in such chaos. Also get so upset at seeing Amy put Matt down in front of his children. It is just awful. Matt has done nothing but try to support her (I'm not sure I know why - but he has). Sorry about the comments but can't help it. The show used to be so nice to watch, but not anymore.

Well said @ 9:42AM. I didn't blame Matt for going to Hawaii either. No one should have been upset with him. He was not selfish. There was a ticket that was going to waste. Why not go?

I am sure that Matt did give the boys a present before or later when he got back. They are 19. They didn't dad there blowing out the candles with them.

I would not be upset if my husband wasn't with me on Mother's day. It's between me and my kids.

Matt can only try so much with Amy. I've seen him build her a Gazebo. Amy wasn't very excited. Well, that was OK was what her reaction indicated to me.

I've seen Matt buy her beautiful jewelery for Mother's day. Well, that was OK too. No matter what he does, Amy is never happy.

If Matt had stayed home, with his health he couldn't have done much with them camping. He couldn't go kite boarding. Kayaking would have been hard for him. Amy makes no effort for Matt.

I agree about all of the kids. Jeremy is the nicest to Matt. God bless him.

I never want to see a family split up, but if the kids were younger, I would want to see Matt take Jeremy and Molly and leave Amy with her two disrespectful boys who are turning out to be as bad or worse than she is.

I'm glad to come across this blog and see other people are seeing what I see on "Little People." I felt naseous watching Zach on the show last night. The way he and Amy conspired to ruin Matt's trip was sickening. Instead of encouraging her kids to go and have fun with their father, she plotted and schemed to get them not to go. I can't even count the number of trips she has taken by herself for fun. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a more selfish woman that Amy. I almost find myself wishing that Matt could meet a woman that would treat him the way he deserves to be treated. Amy should be ashamed of herself. I was also thinking how much better off Jeremy, Molly and Jacob would be if Amy and Zach moved out. I wonder if Zach will look back on these shows and feel bad about how mean he and his mother treated Matt. It seems the show has degenerated into Amy planning trips that she knows Matt can't enjoy like the dude ranch (knowing he is afraid of horses), the climb in the Grand Canyon ( he can't get his scooter up those cliffs) etc. Then she harps on about how he always leaves early. Then she plans parties and tells him he can't help and not to come. Then she spends all of her face time..complaining that he doesn't help or show up. I'm not sure what her problem is and how she can feel proud of turning Zach against his own father.
