Little People, Big World finale; Roloff family score highest ratings of Season 5B

The finale of Little People, Big World for Season 5b on June 14th received the highest ratings of this section of the season - with the finale episode topping the 2 million viewer mark. The finale of course concluded with the dramatic ending of Matt shown collapsed on the floor which has sent worried viewers into a frenzy wondering if Matt is seriously ill or even worse - dead.

He is of course perfectly fine and is and has been driving and flying around the country doing press for the show and speaking engagements.

Matt originally posted -- unrelated -- on his Facebook (he is in New York and was on "Fox and Friends") during the airing of the show, but in the subsequent internet frenzy wondering if Matt is okay -- he has since deleted those entries -- perhaps trying to add to the "mystery" for confused and concerned viewers who wonder if he is alright.

Personally, I don't know how they'll be able to keep the "suspense" and cliff-hanger going for the next 3 months considering Matt has loads of events that he will be promoting over the summer including his cruise (stopstressingnow.com - kind of ironic title, since naive viewers have been stressing out thinking that Matt had a heart attack and is critically ill or dead).

Anyhow, the finale did bring in the best ratings of Season 5B and should set them up nicely for a ratings win in September for the Season 6 premiere on Sept 6, 2010.

I'm going to note an oddity.

Matt has a custom short desk as I recall, and a nice, sized chair with a back rest. So why is there a tall stool tipped over right by Matt lying on the floor?

A stool that realistically, if he sat on it, would leave his legs dangling in an uncomfortable way? And would also perch him well above his work space?

Rap, it could have just been so somebody can come behind the desk and sit beside him to look at something on his desk. Or they do have the family (staged) meetings in the office with 5 or 6 people crowded in there. I don't find the stool unusual.

Better ratings but no morals.

Em - The stool just seemed conviently placed to be visible. Staged in other words.

The producers did their job IF they wanted everyone talking about what a lousy show this has become. If that was the aim then Mission Accomplished!

Staged? Ya think? GAK.

It is a short stool and perhaps his son knocked it over, or Matt reached for it before he fell?
