Matt Roloff commercial for Fitzpatrick Painting

Matt Roloff did a commercial for Fitzpatrick Painting -- who apparently painted the barn that Matt uses for his business offices.

What, you mean Jeremy didn't paint the barn?? I thought Jeremy works his butt off around the farm??

Naw, that was only for the "Lets make Jeremy look like he's not a spoiled lazy 20 year old" episode.

Another freebie for Matt. What is he going to do when the freebies stop rolling in? Roloffs don't pay for anything themselves! ;)

Why shouldn't Matt take the deals? The companies know what they are doing. It is a business deal. They want to use Matt to promote their product, he gets the services. It's smart. Matt is smart.

Matt starting to panic about the faucet of money being turned off by TLC? In other news there are commercials that are 1:33 long.

Brandon, agreed. Where was Jeremy? Seems like the ideal Jeremy himbo scene was missed for the show. He could have shown of his world class painting skills (stated by Matt and Jeremy) all while shirtless.

Bob - on local channels, there are commercials that long. This also might be a master version, where the aired commercials contains bits of Matt's spiel. (Gieco does this with some of their "Does Gieco give you better prices, well, does Abe Lincoln lie???" commercials - some of them have short and long versions.

@ Carol: Shirtless Jeremy...Yummy!

Sounds like TLC wrote the script - "I had to get this ginormous barn painted IMMEDIATELY! I was in a PANIC! WHO could paint my barn MY WAY? Oh, Fitzpatrick Painting stepped in and SAVED THE DAY! YAY! Let's get ice cream!"

LOL...Matt HAD to get a barn painted right away? He didn't/couldn't figure out months in advance that a giant barn needed painting? Sheesh...

But whatever. It's a commercial. Matt gets a freebie, Fitzpatrick Painting gets some publicity they *hope* will help their business. Hope that's true for them - not sure how much Matt Roloff's endorsement will help them around these parts, but it's not my company...

Oh Shawdow, you're just jealous because you can look down the road and see Matt's fabulously painted barn while your own structures are probably rotting away as a visual blemish on the Roloffs neighborhood.

Jeremy Fan, no reason to get excited. You've seen the scene I've described a hundred times. It's Jeremy's speciality as the master Himbo on the show. He randomly strolls by with no real rhyme or reason, but always shirtless and never adding any intelligent commentary.

Perhaps Spirits can create a poll before LPBW is finished for good? A vote on the all time favorite Jeremy himbo sceene?

It's a toss up between Jeremy waltzing around shirtless washing his (Mike's old) truck being very careful to march back and forward in front of the camera.

Either that or Jeremy arriving on the scene in time for cameras to shoot his Himboness in action, to push a wheelbarrow full of dirt out of the way..after there was already a team of Camerino and Matt's staff that did the real work (with shirts on!).

Matt says he would use Fitzpatrick painting again. Would he? It all depends on if he gets it free again. The Roloffs use whatever company is willing to give something free because they are so special.

(rolls eyes) Really Dana, do you understand you've just made an arguement that is the mental equivalent of "You just jealous cause yer poopyfaced"?

Stop being childish and attacking Shadow's points with personal insults that you can't possibly know unless you're stalking Shadow.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with this commercial other than its a little hammy, but the fact that you're publically attacking anyone who isn't "OH DEAR JESUS, THANK YOU FOR MATT. GOD BLESS MATT!! ANYONE WHO DARES CRITIZE MATT IS A HORRIBLE PERSON! MATT ISN'T PERFECT BUT ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE HIM IS JEALOUS AND HE HAS NO FLAWS" really just makes me want to find some reason to find fault with it.

Instead, I am giving you some advice. You're not *helping* Matt by by hurling personal insults at anyone who doesn't share your opinion. You're just being nasty.

(And technically under the vague definitions of cyberbullying, you may be doing that as well.)

Shadow is a neighbor. He/She has admitted it to living close to the Roloffs. During the course of the talks on here, from Shadow's detailed accounts of local establishments and the area, it is more than an internet poster claiming to be from a certain location, imo.

Shadow is jealous. How do you explain her/his constant digs and insults at Matt and Jeremy? It is born out of jealousy, imo.

A jealous neighbor.

Rap541 said...

Or Shadow as a neighbor just might know Matt better than you.

And since you *aren't* a neighbor, explain how you have any direct knowledge of Shadow's home and level of wealth compared to Matt?

Oh right, you don't. Therefore you're attacking someone personally over their opinions of Matt, rather than attacking their opinions. There's a difference. I'm not shocked you don't seem to understand.

Speaking of not helping Matt at all, you do understand how insulting you are being to his neighbors - that as a non neighbor - you've never met?

Ad hominem attacks are the last resort of the ignorant...hear that, Dana?

Baxter, Shadow is no stranger to them re: myself.

Your statement makes no sense.

I live locally and have never seen the commercial or even heard of the company.

On the tour 2 or 3 years ago they went on and on about the new barn being painted. They were so proud of it, it had a shiny new red coat of paint... hired out and they rushed to get it done before pumpkin season. In all honesty I didn't think it made much of a difference, and didn't look that much better than previous years. But they certainly were proud and made a big deal about it. I was more interested in seeing the permanent brown plastic on the windows for filming, and the entrance to the cave. Given that was a couple of years ago, I'm assuming this is an older commercial, or at least he's referring to services rendered in the past.

I don't think the painting was featured on the show, or advertised in any way on TLC - possibly not a freebie... Doesn't matter what I think though because people here are hell-bent on assuming the worst and finding fault in everything.

Another suggestion is that if they didn't get it free, perhaps TLC footed the bill citing that the barn is used for "barn bites" and that the crew offices are in there... a necessary TLC expense. But who knows. There are things to complain about the Roloffs, but getting a barn painted that they're not advertising on the show isn't that big of a deal. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

PPE, I don't think people were implying that the barn was a freebie because of the show, but Matt doing the video "testimonial" for them in exchange for the free paint job and $. Kind of like what most people assume about Matt and Jeremy's grease deal.

Shadow said...

"Baxter, Shadow is no stranger to them re: myself."

Which makes no sense, but then again, makes about as much sense as one of Dana's usual posts.

*I* never said I was a neighbor, BTW...that is Dana's "brilliant" inference at work. And whatever she thinks she knows...well, whatever.

Thanks for the defense on my behalf, though. Appreciate it! Got to get to bed now - have to get up early in the morning to do something about all those "rotting structures" on my property...lol...Hey, maybe I can get Matt over here to tell me what to do!!!

@ Carol: I never saw the scene where Jeremy was washing a truck shirtless. Where the heck was I for that one? Jeremy is 13 years my junior but he certainly gets my motor running ;)
