Amy Roloff attempting to raise money to fund a water well

Amy Roloff and the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation are attempting to raise money to build a water well in a poverty stricken country.

Amy Roloff PSA from Generosity Water on Vimeo.

It takes $3000 to build a well, so that's Amy's goal. You can also see the list of people that have donated. You might recognize a few of the names. Amy of course, Chris Cardamone is the producer that is closest to the Roloffs and the Senior Producer of Little People, Big World. Lisa Dixon is Amy's friend who is on the board of the ARCF and was featured in some of the LPBW episodes about Amy's charity foundation.

You can help Amy fund a water well by donating on the following link. As of November 6th, they've raised $460.

If it costs "just $3000" then the Roloff's can hand the charity the money from their own pockets.

Yeah, what's $3000 to the Roloffs? Wasn't that how much Jacob's one month cell phone bill was? Solution! Take Jacob's cell phone away for a month and build a well.

Who the heck is Taylor Williams? Whoever it is must have rich friends! :)

Someone Anonymously donated $100, in the comments they said if Taylor is donating so are they.

Then Taylor Williams donated $25

Then there is another donation under the name Taylor Williams for $125 with the comment "Taylor we are proud of you"

The Taylor Williams team has donated $250.

I have the perfect solution of what and how Amy Roloff can help with her charity organization. Why not help the people of the United States in your surrounding counties of Oregon out by helping those who have lost their jobs those who now work less hours because of the economy and the elderly who are on a fix income.

Help all of the above by paying all or half of their rent, Utilities bills or help pay for some one refill on their medication, help people out like that once every six months with it being only one item that your charity foundation pay for with those who need assistance have them bring proof of residents and income .

I understand that Amy is trying to make a difference out for different countries in our world, but when you have your own kind in your own country of America who needs help and are trying to make ends meat in order to survive that is when I have a problem.

Amy can still do the other Charity Fundraisers for other countries and organizations. But at least make your own american citizens more of a priorty rather than raising all kinds of money for other countries Raise and help those in your country first
Why not try doing doing that first Amy.

The Truth And Nothing But, I disagree with you. This is one of the things I do give Amy credit for. It's selfish to say I'm only going to help "my own kind".

The clean drinking water epidemic is not something that is a problem in America. It is in the countries that this water program serves.

Her charity foundation has benefited organizations in the U.S and in Oregon. Shriners in Portland, The Special Olympics in Oregon and other Oregon charities.

I don't like this backlash Amy gets whenever she does something like try to help give clean drinking water to a 3rd world country.

Ashley said...

Well said David.

TTANBTT, are you serious? Hm. Amy should pay some American's cable tv bill, instead of trying to get a clean water system in a country where people are dying from drinking contimanted water?

Jocelynn said...

In countries like that, they don't have the means to help themselves. That's why it takes people from countries that have the means to help to do their part. As David said, Amy does use her charity to help local charities too.

David, I couldn't agree with you more. These kind of things and the Haiti stuff, no matter how little that actually might have (forgive me, but that still doesn't sit well with me, say a luxury cruise is for Haiti, when in reality it was less than 8 hours out of a 7 day *luxury* cruise...) helped in Haiti, are good and very un-Roloff like.

I would have expected the Roloffs to only ever help raise money for white Christian dwarves because that is kind of the way the Roloffs operate in other aspects of their lives. Only help what affects them and their friends.

I have more respect for Amy for doing stuff like this than I do for her raising money for DAAA, something that she and Zach benefits directly from.

The truth, I agree with you whole heartedly.

No one comes to help America. Where was the help from the rest of the world for the Oil Spill crisis? There are people in need in America. If you're going to give money, give to Americans.

I notice adults Jeremy and Zach aren't on the donating list. I guess the poverty in Haity realllly affected them...

Jeremy must need to sink another 3 grand into his 5th vehicle.

I would put a disclaimer on people saying "Amy is helping". She gave $100. Most of her charity involvement is asking other people to give their money while she gets the rewards and credit for it.

Leanne said...

Greg, how do you figure Amy gets "rewarded" for raising money for charity? It's a lot of hard work and time consuming to organize charity projects.

Greg said...

Leanne, follow the ARCF website. Look at all the parties Amy goes to "for charity". She goes to a party here, she goes to a party there. She does a radio interview where she always gets the chance to promote herself and her show and her other projects. Having a charity gets her exposure. She can then use that exposure to promote things where she gains finacially.

But really look at what she does for her charity. Most of it is Amy going to parties where she mingles with other celebrities and wealthy people. It becomes like a social in card into that circle.

Greg said...

I forgot to add, like someone else said, how does Amy gain from having her charity?

Having her charity foundation got Amy, Jeremy and Zach a free cruise on the World's largest cruise ship for a whole week. A free vacation for three people (and more, counting her friends Lisa and the other woman's name that I forget right now). What did she need to do for the free vacation? Stop in Haiti for a few hours and be filmed handing out stuff to kids in an orphanage. Then she got back on the posh cruise ship, dined with the Captain and frolicked on sunny beaches.

Just my two cents, but why shouldn't Amy, as a celebrity put up half and ask the community to match that money? That makes more sense to me. It's also what the Big Stars do - they donate huge sums to get the attention on the problem and to encourage others to emulate.

$100 isn't much for Amy is it?

Just my two cents...

I guess those who disagree with Truth won't be able to see his or her point of view until they either lose their jobs or end up getting reduce ours and used all of their savings to see and understand where truth is coming from.

I also understand that Truth was not saying stop completley from giving and helping other countries out when in a crisis. Truth was saying try and help your own and help them more before venturing out of your own city and state and country.

We in America are also in a crisis just as theses other countries are in some type of crisis, our may be due to job lose or reduce hours or some one being very very sick but as it may be it was not none of our faults as it is for those other countries. That was all what truth was saying do for you own and do more of it before going to provide for another country. I also didn't see where Truth said anything about paying a cable Bill. A cable is not a needed, it is an accessory. For those who can not no longer afford cable go out and buy a converter box if you can not afford cable or full cable well then reduce it to basic cable. The cost of basic cable is no more than maybe $25 or $30 total a month. And for those who have HDtv sets and want to continue having tv coverage and can not afford cable any more buy a antenna for your set sense it is digital ready.

I would hope with any agency that is tying to give assistance to help out the now less unfortunate would not be trying are allowing to help no one either keep or turn their cable back on. Like I said having cable is not a need, it is a want. But to those who want to be cold and heartless to their American brother or sister who would or is now in need of finniancial assistance I only hope those who are hater's won't ever have to see that light of day cause it won't be nice for none of you who miss understood what Truth said cause what truth said was nothing but the truth.

Ashley said...

Anon 6th, I don't think you're getting it. Paying someones utility bill because times are tough which is what TBNBT said doesn't compare to people dying because they don't have clean water to drink.

Amy has done stuff with homeless shelters in Portland.

I think people are people. It's good that there are people to help that don't only help "their own".

matt donated $100.

Cindy said...

Does anyone know if you can only donate if you live in the United States? What about Canadians? On the form the only option is to list your state.

Brandon said...

Cindy, I don't see why it would matter as long as you're not looking for a tax receipt. I think the important thing is the credit card info.

I think it's amusing that Matt didn't post about this on his facebook until Spirits posted it.

Amy's donation page for the water has been up for over a month. Her donation says she was starting it off, that was on Sept 21st.

Spiritswander posts about it in the morning of November 6th. Matt then posts about it on his facebook the night of November 6th.

"I think it's amusing that Matt didn't post about this on his facebook until Spirits posted it."

That is amusing, isn't it?

Dana said...

Look at the way the donations picked up after Matt got involved :) Who is the master fundraiser? :)

abstractdaisy said...

And not one dime from Zach (who's working and getting paid from TLC) and not one dime from Humbra Jeremy (who's not working but is getting paid from TLC). What a couple of self centered those two are. Amy & Matt should be proud of those two. Good job Amy & Matt

Expressed said...

I asked this before, but does anyone know who CGN Taylor is? Another $135 in donations with the comments that people are proud of Taylor's donation.

Rap541 said...

The only bell the name rings is Taylor, Jake's girlfriend but I have no idea what her last name is.

Jocelynn said...

I don't think it's Jake's Taylor.

I vaguely remember seeing a video on you tube for the water organization. I think the little girl's name was Taylor. I can't remember if she was just a girl trying to help or if she had an illness or disability of her own.

Marsha said...

This is Taylor Williams. The channel that posted it is the Martial Arts place where Amy took Zach to meet the girl.

I think Amy might be a confused about the destination for the water well. Unless they are making an exception for Amy, the water organization states that you are not able to choose what country will receive the water well. Amy is specifically saying Haiti. MyGenerosity water lists 5 countries, Haiti isn't one of them.

David said...

They reached the goal thanks to the friends of Taylor Williams and Jack Morrissey ($665 donation).

Christine said...

David, I disagree and don't like what you said or that mentality. Why does someone that has a lot of money to give get more credit than someone that doesn't have the funds to give?

If someone is giving $400 or $600 it tells me they have money coming out of their ears. Yeah, it's nice for them to give something, but what is it to people that obviously have lots of money? I think it's more of a giving act for someone that doesn't have a disposable income to give $10 or $20. But in things like this, most people are like what you said. Look at the biggest contributors and say they helped the most.

Kelsey said...

Justin Bieber is raising money for a water well too.

He raised $13,000+ in one day. Maybe Jeremy and Jake Roloff will donate for Justin??? Hahaha Haters! They don't even donate to Amy's water well campaign!
