Congratulations Zach and Tori!

I'm happy for them. I can't wait until Jeremy and Audrey are expecting. They will be great parents. I hope Zach and Tori have enough sense to keep Jacob away from their baby.

I hate to be cynical but getting pregnant seems like a career move. How else do they keep the show going? Well, now they have material.

Wendy,
This blog is about Zach and Tori.
Your fixation on Jer, Auj and Jacob is borderline mental.

Timothy,
If you were talking about Jer and Oddj I would totally agree but Zach and Tori have a much more solid relationship and have expressed wanting kids all along.
I hope this baby is the healthiest little person ever since Zach and Tori both expressed wishes for little people kids.

Man I can't wait for that baby to grow up to be a 9-foot tall gay man or lesbian who hates pumpkin salsa. Baaaaahahahaha

What are the chances that their child will be a little person?

Megan said...

I believe it's a high probability, Sscooter.

I'm disappointed by how selfish Zach is being. Why would you WISH pain and difficulty on your child? The physical pain and emotional obstacles are a horrible thing to hope your child will have to endure. I understand Zach is being very selfish and wanting to be able to bond with his child, but it's very wrong of him.

Its fifty percent actually.

Zach is achrondroplasic like his mom. Amy actually did better than the odds.

Megan - Amy knew those odds when she was pregnant with Zach and Jeremy - perhaps she should have considered the pain and aborted instead of being so selfish, right?

As should Honey Roloff - instead she had three defective children who lived painfilled lives. Remember, when Matt Roloff was spending his entire childhood in the hospital - always smiling of course because he's a fighter, but internally crying out to God for the end to his pain that NEVER CAME, THE PAIN HE HAS TO FIGHT THRU EVERY DAY WITH A SMILE (and of course long descriptions of how he is a martyr to the pain) remember to let him know how selfish his mom was to even birth him. :)

Actually, if you knew anything about science or how genetics work, Zach and Tori have a lower chance of having a dwarf than any of the other couples in the family, actually.

Also, the kind of dwarfism Zachary and Amy are, is not that painful. The type Matt is, yes, but the child if a dwarf will most likely be the type Amy and Zach are. Which means some minor surgery as a baby and that's it. It's not "wrong of him" to want his child to be just like him.

You are ridiculous and should never be allowed to post here. Let people be happy.

Well, not a fan of the Roloff's at all, but at least Zach and Tori have actual jobs and aren't sucking off Daddy Matt's titty like Jer and Auj.....but they must profit from the show somewhat.....I wish them well and hope they have a healthy baby! I think it'll be a cold day in hell when J&A get pregnant, they seem WAY too selfish and a baby would really cut into all their travels and adventures! *gag*

Anderson - I disagree with the odds. It's pretty well established that the achrondroplasic dwarfism gene is dominant. That means Zach has a fifty percent chance of passing the gene to a child. As Tori isn't an achon dwarf, she doesn't carry the gene at all.

Jeremy, Molly, and Jacob did not inherit the dominant dwarfism gene from Amy (that's why they aren't dwarfs) so they don't carry the gene at all and are as likely as anyone else to have an achrondroplasic dwarf child.

All four Roloff kids may carry the dyastrophic gene that Matt inherited from both of his parents. Its NOT dominant so both parents have to have it and there's still a chance the kids won't have the illness - two out of four of Honey and Pop's kids were dyastrophic dwarfs. However, if the Roloff kids don't marry fellow carriers of the dyastrophic gene, then they are all very unlikely to have children with dyastrophic dwarfism (as in I would be genuinely shocked if Jer and Auj had a child with Matt's form of dwarfism)

So Zach does have a higher chance of having a dwarf child than his siblings, but you're correct that it's not a cursed life and considering the whole point of this show is acceptance, I am finding it hilarious that the Christian crowd is now on "Dwarfs should be sterilized, how can they be allowed to have children" - particularly since if they had their way, Amy should have aborted her pregnancies as she is a dwarf and at risk for breeding more defectives.

Megan said...

Can't anyone read? Never did I say a dwarf baby should be aborted or dwarfs should be sterilized or not allowed to have kids.

What I said is that I feel it IS selfish to HOPE your child has a disability. That's not to say that some dwarfs can live relative healthy and productive lives, but it is a burden that often brings with it much pain and medical treatments. Then there is the mental challenge that comes with their limitations and gawking. To hope your child has something that will cause him/her pain is just plain wrong. I get it. Zach hopes for it because he would have a special bond with his child and would be share his lessons learned with his child, but it is incredibly short-sighted and selfish.

Rap541 said...

In Matt's first book, he mentioned hoping they would have dwarf children and that he and Amy wanted dwarf children. Megan, I trust you think Matt Roloff and Amy Roloff were selfish?

And since Zach knows the odds are at least even that he will have a child with dwarfism, he'd rather be on record being pleased as punch rather than bitterly disappointed his child shares his deformity? I mean, what kid born with a disability wants to read a news story where his dad mentions how he'd prefer normal children?

Sara said...

Megan Megan Megan, how is it selfish to hope, when hope has zero impact on whether or not the baby will be a little person???

Sara said...

And, Megan....your perspective ignores advantages of being a short person/disabled. My kids have disabilities and as a result they are compassionate kids who want to help others with similar issues. They have a deeper understanding one cannot have without first hand experience. How short sighted to focus only on the drawbacks!

J45 said...

Interesting, I didn't take it to mean Zach was *hoping* for a dwarf child, per say (although he's said that in the past). Just that if the kid is a dwarf, that adds a whole new "mentorship" layer to the parent child relationship. I presume Zach is keen about the deeper bond/relatabilty, not that he's keen to have a disabled child. And the whole point of the show is inclusivity and diversity, so of course a dwarf baby would be an inticing addition.

Kelly said...

Stop being politically correct. While I don't think Zach is bad for saying what he said, Megan's point is true.

To try to say that there's an advantage in being disabled is ludicrous. Yeah, make the best of your situation and try to live life to the fullest, but let's be real. It's better to have a healthy kid instead of one with disabilities.

Jeremy's lived a better life than Zach because he didn't have a disability. Let's not kid ourselves.

Jeremy had a better life until he married that kabuki-masked fame whore.

Zach had the same wild child upbringing Her did. Same educational opportunities. Has a job in a sport he loves. And a wife that he loves who loves himm has helped him grow and jeeps him grounded. How us Jer's life better?

Meghan:

You do realize that expression can mean anything so long as the child is healthy and happy, Zach could really mean that he wants the child to be like him temperament or personality wise...which is something that won't even become noticeable until 6-8 months after its born, otherwise he is just boasting like any excited expectant father would do.

What I'd like to know is: when did Molly acquire such a horrible case of vocal fry? She croaks like a frog.

Congrats for Zach and Tori.
Obviously they don't care if the baby is a little person, just healthy.Zach knows the trials a little person has to go through so he is fully capable of handling issues when they arise. It's not like Zach had it easy watching daddy fawn all over the tall twin growing up.Curious to see though, if this leads to yet another unproductive season of lpbw.Hopefully Zach and Tori have learned how not to parade your little person child on tv.I'm sure Matt is gunning the producers for the tlc baby specials right now and Audrey is telling Jeremy they need to get preggers because the spotlight isn't on her anymore.
Lets hope they have the sense to keep their kid off the show, but I have a feeling the dangling carrot of grifter money is too much of a temptation with new baby expenses.

"It's better to have a healthy kid instead of one with disabilities."

Spoken exactly like someone who isn't the parent of a kid with disabilities, and doesn't have a disability. You're opinion on this is worth nothing.

Who ended up with a lovely wife, and who ended up with a complete douchebag wife? Who has knowledge and skills to have gainful employment? And who is relying on inheriting a farm *someday* to earn a living?

I wonder if Jacob is going to speak up when Zach and Tori start putting the baby on the show? Jacob was getting quite outspoken about putting kids on reality shows. Does that go for babies? Or when the kid is 4? He kind of bashed the other LP family with the show with their son Jack.

Is Jacob going to speak out when Zach puts his son or daughter on the show? The baby is obviously going to give the show some steam to keep going.

I wasn't aware that Zach had a full time job. He coaches part time...what else does he do to earn a living besides the show?

PJ said...

Hopefully the baby won't be on the show beyond a birth photo.

Zach manages an indoor sports arena, or did.

How many of you bet that Audrey is already forcing Jeremy into the sack to force him into a pregnancy? There's no way Audrey is okay with this much attention NOT being on her! She must be going fucking insane watching all these people pouring their support towards Zach and tori. Too funny, really. I'm excited to see how quickly they'll "accidentally" get pregnant, the twins can't do anything not directly side by side of each other it's obnoxious.

"Congrats" Zach & Tori!! My Husband & I are happy for both of you. Zach & Tori we wish both of you every happiness.
We wish the same for Jeremy & Audrey. We extend this to your other siblings. We are sad about your parents divorce.
It brings tears to our eyes when it comes across with your Mother attacking your Father. It isn't right! It looks bad on tv. That should be handled privately. Not on tv. It's embarrassing. Not attacking your parents. Just pointing out that sniping at one another needs not be on tv. Your Mother comes off as being very cross towards your Father. We do support your Mother in her future endeavors. We wish her good luck with in her future. Same for your Father. Your Father has busted his butt to make the farm what it is. Otherwise the farm would not be what it is. It comes off as though your Mother could care a less about any of that. Okay they didn't make time for each other or take off on trips. The farm & you kids were a priority. Not trying to be disrespectful. Not liking how your Mother is coming across anymore!
We are losing respect for your Mother. Okay maybe your Dad didn't always support your Mother's ideas or whatever! Your Mother hasn't always done the same in regards to your Dad. We sincerely apologize for how we are expressing to you our feelings about your parents divorce. We know stuff happens. That's a given! But it's another thing to see what is unfolding on your show. It really doesn't need to ply out that way! Please don't play your Mother out to be ever so innocent. She isn't!! She's an adult! She knows what she is doing! She doesn't care! Her behavior is inexcusable! Your dad has has really been the driving force behind why the farm still thrives. All of you would not be on tv otherwise right? Your dad has every right to know who is coming & going on the farm as whomever comes onto the property that none of you know something could happen! No respect or regard is given to your Father!! For his welfare or the welfare of you kids or Mother. For your Mother to talk down to your dad is really disrespectful! What your Mother wants to do needs your Father to play a part in helping to make that happen. Your Mom needs to back off! your dad!! She needs to appreciate the help your Father is still giving her when he doesn't have to!
Really! Zach! Come on now!! You kids need to have a grown up discussion with both your parents. It's not even funny! What is going on with the show!! It's sad!! It's pathetic! It's not entertaing!! The show needs to go away if changes don't happen for the betterment of the show. All this aside we are excited about the baby news.
Take Care!
Julie & Harry Uva

I'm sure whether the baby inherits dwarfism or not he will be very much loved and that if there are any medical problems, they will be taken care of. Yes, your parents are adults. They know what they are doing. Its their business and they are the ones that need to have a discussion. At this point its hard to know what each parent wants. They made the farm and raising their kids a priority and now that their grown ?????Good luck with your baby boy.

Its 50 percent and by the way 80 percent of dwarfs are born to average height couples. Dont judge.
